Between recording award-winning albums and high-energy tour dates, Miranda Lambert can whip up a pretty mean corn and macaroni casserole. The singer and wife of Blake Shelton recently sat down with Taste of Home to share some of her favorite foods and recipes.

“My mom always said, ‘Those that eat, work,’” Lambert says. “So we all chipped in.” The ‘Over You‘ singer’s fridge is stocked with staples for just her and Shelton — with a few things for unexpected visitors. “If company drops by, I make something called Magic, as my mom did. Take one cup crunchy peanut butter, one cup granulated sugar, one egg (from our own chickens) and one teaspoon of vanilla. Combine, roll into golf balls, crisscross with a fork and bake 10 minutes at 350 degrees.”

Cheese is an item she never runs out of, as it makes just about anything taste better and it’s a favorite of her ‘Honey Bee’ husband’s. The mantra she lives by? “When in doubt, fry it or add cheese.” Lambert also revealed a few other family secrets during the conversation, like adding a little beer to her homemade barbecue sauce. It’s something she learned from her mother.

“She also taught me my grandmother’s trick to make canned veggeis seem fresh: drain, add a little olive oil and sprinkle with sugar while heating. It brings the flavor out.” One could practically prepare a four course dinner tonight with all these new tips and tricks.

Much like she and Shelton are committed to folding their own underwear well into their senior years, Lambert is well versed at keeping her little family — dogs included – happy and fed. At her husband’s most recent homecoming from tour, the blonde sparkplug had hot chicken-fried steak waiting on the table.

Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are one of the hottest couples in music right now, but the powerful pair insist they are just two regular people when they step off the stage.

“Where I live in Oklahoma, I am just Miranda to the locals, and when I go to the feed store to buy stuff for my animals, they don’t care that I sing for a living,” the ‘Over You’ singer explains to MLive. “I try to live a normal life as much as possible. Living away from the activity and making my home in Oklahoma is a plus. I have a quiet life there, and love spending time with my animals, family and friends.”

Miranda’s husband adds that they still do many of their own household chores themselves, even though they could easily afford help. “There are some things that she and I draw the line at,” he tells the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “If we ever get to the point where we don’t fold our own towels and underwear, we need to get our asses kicked.”

‘The Voice’ coach adds that he has a long-term plan that will allow he and his bride plenty
of time to relax on their expansive ranch. “My goal would be to someday tour like George Strait tours — go out and do 15 shows a year, and flip Nashville the bird and say, ‘I’ll see you next year,’” Blake reveals. It’s a plan his spouse fully supports.

“Living in the boonies is the great equalizer,” the songstress notes. “When I get home, and I see my dogs and my farm animals and just hang out, it reminds me of what matters, and that if the fame goes away, I will still have people that I love and that love me back in my life.”

With both Mr. and Mrs. Shelton longing to spend more time off the road together, have they considered joining forces on one tour? Maybe, but not anytime soon. “We’ll probably get there someday,” Blake acknowledges. “It’s not something we’re mapping out at this point.”

For now, the newlyweds are living out their love story long distance. Blake is juggling his role on ‘The Voice’ with his Well Lit & Amplified tour, while his wife is crossing the country on her On Fire tour. See Blake’s schedule here, and click here to see Miranda’s concert dates.

Miranda Lambert is coming to the aid of people recently affected by devastating tornadoes in Kentucky. Lambert will perform in Louisville, KY on March 24 and will donate 100% of the proceeds from remaining tickets to the show to the tornado relief efforts. Additionally, the venue and Ticketmaster have agreed to waive their fees from ticket sales for the remaining tickets.

Rodney Atkins has also done his part to help the area. Earlier this week, Rodney hosted a radio drive and matched donations up to $15,000.

“When you see where people’s lives are destroyed, and everything they’ve worked for is gone in an instant, it makes you want to help,” said Atkins. “This especially hit me hard because it’s where I grew up. I know the community will pull together to overcome the hardships, but anything we can do to help them out will be greatly appreciated.”

Saturday night (March 17) Miranda Lambert and her touring crew hit Broomfield, Colo.’s 1st Bank Event Center. During her show, Lambert invited another powerful female vocalist — and fellow ‘The Voice‘ mentor — to take the stage with her. Surprising the audience, Kelly Clarkson emerged and offered up her recent single ‘Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)’ from her fifth studio album, 2011′s ‘Stronger,’ as well as Lambert’s own ‘Gunpowder and Lead’ with the help of the blonde country starlet herself.

Following their first number, Lambert screamed, “Holy s–t! Kelly Clarkson is here, Colorado. She’s here tomorrow night, so you better get you’re a– here to see her!”

“This is the first night to see Miranda,” Clarkson gushed into the mic. “She’s kicking a–. I’ve been a fan since ‘Kerosene,’ so I’m a true fan.”

“She’s Kelly Clarkson. Whatever,” Lambert countered, ducking the compliment. “She wanted me to sing that y’all, and I was like, ‘Dude, if I could sing like you I wouldn’t ever talk. I would sing everything.’ But she does love this song … This is all about girl power—that’s what we’re both about.”

With that, Clarkson joined Lambert on her sassy revenge anthem ‘Gunpowder and Lead’ from her 2007 record ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.’ The first-ever ‘American Idol’ winner offered her killer vocal chops to the song, taking the higher parts while Lambert’s voice played in the lower register and drove home the song. Together, the two were a female vocal duo on fire with energy and strong, sing-it-like-you-mean-it vocals. Surely, this was a special treat for the roaring Colorado crowd.

Hey everybody! Sorry for the lateness on these photos. I have been quite busy and I’m just now getting around to uploading them. The premiere was held at Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California. Miranda was wearing a BB Dakota Garland Dress, as well as Lauren Craft East Egg Earrings. As always, she looked amazing! She was accompanied by Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley, who are her band mates for her all girl band Pistol Annies. The group has written and recorded a song for the movie. It’s titled Run, Daddy, Run and will be featured on the soundtrack for the film. I uploaded 101 photos of Miranda from the premiere! It is a mix of MQ and HQ photos. Broadway veteran and country music superstar Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton will co-host the 47th annual Academy of Country Music Awards, to be held on Sunday, April 1, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Kenny Chesney, Jason Aldean, Tim McGraw, Miranda Lambert, Toby Keith, Eric Church and Luke Bryan will be among the performers. Chesney has nine nominations, while Aldean has six.

The Academy has also announced that the Zac Brown Band will host the ACM fan event at the Mandalay Events Center.

In addition, pop music superstar Lionel Richie will host ACM Presents: Lionel Richie and Friends — A Lifetime of Hits, a television special taped the day after the awards and aired later on CBS. Lady Antebellum, Kenny Rogers, Rascal Flatts, and Martina McBride will be among the performers set to appear on the special.

McEntire starred on Broadway in Annie Get Your Gun and in the Carnegie Hall concert production of South Pacific alongside Brian Stokes Mitchell.

Country star Miranda Lambert thinks Barcadi should sponsor her tour, since she’s such a big fan of the rum.

The singer claims she invented the Randarita, which is a mix of Bacardi, raspberry lemonade Crystal Light powder and a splash of low-calorie Sprite, and she insists it’s high time beverage bosses pay her back for all the promotion she has given them.

In a series of tweets on Wednesday (07Mar12) she writes, “I just realized how ridiculous it is that Bacardi doesn’t sponsor my tour… I invented the randarita!

“If I don’t have at least an offer from them by the end of the week, what should I switch to…? They better step it up.”

Lambert and her tipple of choice hit the headlines after the Grammy Awards last month when she introduced new pal Lady Gaga to the cocktail.
